It strikes me as odd that so many in the profession of selling feel it necessary to use such monikers as "Sales Associate" and, I love this one, "Consultant".
Let's not beat around the bush. My name is Richard Downey. I work at Folsom Chevrolet in Northern California, I have the best customers in the world, and I am a salesman.
For the better part of my adult life I have been a Soldier. A retired senior noncommissioned officer, I have found, in selling, a profession that - very much like my military career - requires a great deal of passion, a goodly amount of perseverance, and a taste for adventure.
